We provide a safe space to access deep relaxation and mindful awareness. Participants arrive and are asked to place their phone and belongings aside to limit the temptation of distraction and create a positive space for all. Typically, the experience will be shared by a small group of people, sitting or laying in a comfortable setting. (One yoga mat per person will be provided.) Please bring blankets with desired head support (towel, travel pillow, etc.). You'll want to be warm and cozy so bring an extra blanket or yoga mat; wear loose comfortable clothing including socks. We take great care to ensure that everyone has a comfortable place to relax and that all participants have an equal chance to appreciate the full experience. The session will start with our intentions followed by a sound bath. Whatever your background, all you need to do is be there and let the sounds wash over you. Each session will be different as the sacred space created and focus will follow the needs of the group. Events are facilitated by Babette Bowen and /or Teresa Squires
Sound baths and meditation allows your brain to relax into an alpha-dominant or theta-dominant brainwave state. This is is similar to your sleep state where your bodies natural healing is strongest. Some benefits include:
Everyone's experience is different, and new things may emerge in each session. Most people feel very relaxed and peaceful during sound therapy, whereas some have visualisations, receive downloads, or even have emotional breakthroughs.
Please come as you are. No physical fitness or previous knowledge required. It does help to drink plenty of water, eat healthy food and get a good night’s sleep before having a sound bath. Most people can get chilled so please bring a blanket and dress comfortably warm. Yoga mats will be provided. Please bring a blanket or what can make you comfortable lying on the floor for 60 minutes. If you prefer to sit, there will be chairs available. PLEASE ARRIVE A MINIMUM OF 10 MINUTES EARLY TO GET COMFORTABLE. To respect the experience of the group, no late arrivals are permitted. No refunds will be issued for missed sessions.
Sessions for groups will be focused on specific intentions and benefits for all participants. If you have specific physical, emotional, spiritual or mindfulness focus, a one on one session can be scheduled. If you are in early stages of pregnancy or have any neurological sensitivities, please advise us by emailing us at theheartland@gmx.com.
We set up the room so you can have ample space to relax and social distance as you choose. Masks are not required. No part of the experience requires any touching. The experience is based upon energy flow and sound vibrations. Each person has their own purpose and experience. Some people may have stronger releases based upon their intent and sensitivity. We will support you from offering comfort (tissues, prayer, etc.) as well as helping you understand your individual experience and any helpful things to do. See "how can i prepare for a session."
